Buckhead Area Guide Learn about the Buckhead community and all that it offers!

Buckhead is where you’ll find luxurious high-rise condos on Peachtree Road and extravagant mansions on the backroads and side streets of the neighborhood. The community borders Midtown Atlanta to the south and Sandy Springs to the north while also bordering Vinings, Cumberland, Brookhaven, and North Druid Hills. With an average commute of 15 – 30 minutes to downtown Atlanta, Buckhead is a desirable place to call home.
Buckhead Living
Known as an affluent, upscale neighborhood within the Atlanta city limits, Buckhead is brimming with both “old” and “new” money. It is made up of mostly single-family homes with many reaching multi-million dollar valuations. Buckhead is considered one of the wealthiest Atlanta neighborhoods to live in, and it is the third-largest commercial neighborhood in Atlanta.
Classic home styles and pristine gardens add to the charm and sophistication of the neighborhood. High-rise apartments and condominiums are becoming a more popular feature in this area, as younger, upwardly mobile graduates are moving into the neighborhood.
A large portion of Buckhead residents are employed as executives, managers, and professionals making up nearly 67 percent of those who are working. This high concentration of talent truly shapes the character of this neighborhood, and to a large degree, defines the values of this fine neighborhood.
Buckhead offers an abundance of amenities to its residents including parks, tennis courts, country clubs, swimming pools, and excellent schools. There are plenty of dining and entertainment options as well as access to public transportation.

It is also home to a thriving nightlife scene for young adults and those who are more seasoned. For those who enjoy daytime fun, Buckhead offers several parks, trails, shopping centers, and eateries! The Buckhead experience is truly unparalleled. Here are a handful of places that are frequented by Buckhead residents.
Phipps Plaza
Phipps Plaza exhibits a calm and sophisticated atmosphere. It houses designer retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana. Phipps also holds an AMC movie theater with recliner seats and plenty of snack options. For those with little ones, a trip to LEGOLAND® Discovery Center for themed rides, activities, and exciting 4D films might be in store!
The Shops of Buckhead
The Shops of Buckhead indulges shoppers with six blocks of over 60 designer stores and art galleries. Some of the high-end stores include Dior, Tom Ford, Christian Louboutin, and Jimmy Choo. The Shops of Buckhead also attracts many eager diners with spots like the Biltong Bar, offering inventive craft cocktails and house-made charcuterie; Le Colonial, a chic French-Vietnamese restaurant; and Shake Shack, the popular dessert chain.
PATH400 Greenway Trail
PATH400 has become a favorite spot for Buckhead walkers, joggers, bikers, and pet owners to get out for fresh air and exercise. It weaves along the spine of GA 400 and, once complete, it will provide a 5.2 mile greenway through the heart of Buckhead connecting neighborhoods, offices, and retail locations with a path for bicyclists and pedestrians.
The multi-use greenway will eventually join with the Atlanta Beltline and trails in Sandy Springs and North Fulton County. PATH400 is the first step toward implementation of the Buckhead Collection, a planned network of 106 acres of parks and trails in the neighborhood. It is truly a project that will be valued by Buckhead residents and prospective home buyers.
Chastain Park
There is nothing to dislike about Atlanta’s warm, friendly Chastain Park. It comprises youth league baseball fields, community tennis courts, a swimming pool, a beautiful golf course, and a private horse park. Here you’ll find runners and walkers circling the three-mile pathway at all hours of the day and pleasant wildlife living in the ponds and greenery.
Chastain Park also houses an amphitheater that has drawn some of the best entertainment acts the community has seen. Though the amphitheater is nestled within a mostly residential area, it does not stop the venue from blasting some of the liveliest tunes in town.
Henri’s Bakery & Café
Henri’s is a 87-year old bakery that adds a Southern flair to iconic European baked goods and sandwiches. Henri’s Bakery is a Buckhead staple for delicious cold-cut sandwiches, desserts, and other treats, and it remains a beloved neighborhood spot.
Lenox Mall
Lenox Mall is known for its luxurious shopping scene and premium retail establishments.
