Education
Marietta City Schools upholds a fine standard of educational excellence because parents, faculty, and community leaders expect the best. Support from the Marietta Schools Foundation allows teachers, administrators, and students to receive recognition and incentives to excel. Marietta’s schools enjoy low pupil-teacher ratios (20:1), high per-pupil expenditures ($10,542 in the FY17 budget), and excellent support-staff provisions. Seventy-five percent of certified staff have at least a Master’s Degree, and teachers are often recognized among the best in the state and nation.
Marietta City Schools is one of Georgia’s first Charter School Systems and first International Baccalaureate (IB) World School District, and it is one of the only school systems nationwide that provides the full IB (K-12) continuum.
