Marietta is located in central Cobb County, Georgia, between Kennesaw to the northwest and Smyrna to the southeast. Being only 15 miles northwest of Atlanta, Marietta is an ideal suburb for those wanting a shorter commute. Marietta is one of Georgia’s most populous cities, with 56,579 residents calling the 23 square mile city home, and it is the county seat.
Originally settled as a railroad hub in the 1800s, the city has a rich history, a tight-knit community, and a perfect mix of stores and restaurants to enjoy. With the large proportion of residents per square foot, Marietta offers a small town feel with the opportunity to meet new people.
Marietta’s residents pride themselves on preserving the environment and the beauty of their city, so they created an organization to lead cleanup initiatives. So far, Keep Marietta Beautiful has empowered 1,000 volunteers to clean up neighborhoods and public spaces, and it has helped residents recycle over 7,000 tons of paper, yard clippings, glass and plastic.
Marietta is booming with unique neighborhoods and friendly neighbors. Traditional, historic, colonial and ranch style homes are abundant all throughout town.
